I'll give them the chance that their acting might surprise me (In fact, I have no idea of Nicola Peltz's acting skill, so no assumptions there, and I've never heard of Jesse McCartney before - though the pop star trying to play Zuko worries me), but that doesn't negate the fact that an Asian and Inuit inspired world, where all the character's dress in Asian/Inuit inspired clothing, have Asian/Inuit inspired hair, write in Chinese, live in what are clearly Asian/Inuit inspired cultures, and features Buddhist philosophy, will be filled with Caucasians. Not only is that a racist decision, it just doesn't work, and it sends the message that the director and studio heads just don't care about making sure the world of movie!Avatar properly reflects that of the show.

White!Aang makes about as much sense as Asian!Frodo would: none.
